Picture shows one of the wartime utility Sunbeam Ws rebodied by Roe in the late 50s/early 60s.
Trolleybus 56 is approaching the Waterloo Street stop. The next stop was Barton Road for Maidstone Grammar School and
there was always a bit of a scrum, unless you were a beefy sixth-former, at the end of the day even to get on the first
two trolleys. The crafty pupil would therefore walk down the hill to Waterloo Street and a) get a seat on the top deck and
b) get home at least 10 minutes earlier than those who hadn't worked out the trick.
This vehicle has been preserved.
