friends and when they had the money it was a knickerbocker glory ice cream!

Barking terminus where 691 and 693s left for Ilford, Chadwell Heath and Fairlop and Barkingside and the 567
and 665s left for central London. Most 567s terminated at Aldgate, Minories it is interesting to get a vehicle
leaving for Smithfield. The terminus at Barking was in London Road/East Street, close to Barking Station and the
town centre.
Poplar's 1466 on route 567 was transferred to Finchley Depot following the closure of the Commercial Road
routes and continued in service until November 1961. Strangely, sister vehicle, 1464 was both the last
trolleybus into Poplar Depot [on route 665] and the last ever service 521 running into Finchley Depot, making it
the last trolleybus to run from both the Bloomsbury and Holborn terminals.
The last trolleybus to arrive at Finchley in January 1962 was vehicle 1468 on route 660. |
